Archie Cutting
Archie Frances Cutting, age 76, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Monterey Park Nursing Center in Independence, Mo. Born December 19, 1933 in Smithville, Mo., he was the son of Arthur and Effie Frances (VanBibber) Cutting. On May 3, 1955 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., he was married to Lenora Belle Bellington, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Beverly Robison and husband, Rodney, of Maysville, Mo., and Michael Cutting and wife, Linda, of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jacob Witt, James Raynor, Tonanda LaBar, Craig Cutting and Corin Cutting; two great-grandchildren, Theodore Witt and Honesty LaBar; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and 15 brothers and sisters. Mr. Cutting traveled to California and various other states with his parents while receiving his education. He joined the United States Coast Guard at age 17 and served in locations such as St. Louis, Michigan, California, Puerto Rico and the Hawaiian islands, retiring after 24-1/2 years of service. Following his military service he was a truck driver and drove for Waller Trucking, TransAm Trucking and Northland Ready-Mix before finally retiring in 2005. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the VFW in Excelsior Springs. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, August 20, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo., with military honors at 8 p.m. Cremation.
