Hoye, 99, Lawson, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012, at the Valley Manor and Rehab Center in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Mrs. Hoye was born March 7, 1912, in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of William Clayton and Anna Elizabeth (Fretwell) Abshire. She married Edward Loyd Hoye on February 19, 1931; he preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Hoye worked for Stern-Slegman-Prins for 30 years. She retired in 1974. She was a member of the Winnwood Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo., and also attended the Methodist Church in Lawson, Mo. In addition to her husband, Edward Loyd, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Tracy Abshire, Earl Abshire and John Abshire; one sister, Maurice (Abshire) Beaver; one granddaughter, Cheryl (Hoye) Finkelstein and one great-grandson, Spencer Bush. Survivors include two sons, Walter Hoye and wife, Letha, of Lathrop, William Hoye and wife, Vicki, of Bella Vista, Ark.; three grandchildren, Angela Rader, John Hoye and Robert Hoye; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Polley Funeral Home in Lawson, Mo. Burial will be in the White Chapel Cemetery in Gladstone, Mo.
