Deloris Dumas

Deloris Jean Dumas, 84, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at the Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab in Excelsior Springs. Mrs. Dumas was born October 9, 1927, in Braymer, Mo., the daughter of Raymond Carrott and Ardis (Haughton) Gibson. She married Dick Dumas on May 15, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo. They shared 58 years of marriage together; he survives of the home. Mrs. Dumas was a homemaker. Deloris was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs and the Garden Club.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents.

In addition to her husband, Dick, she is survived by one son, James Raymond Dumas of Independence; three daughters, Carol Ann Burns of Blue Springs, Rebecca Jean Burchett of Higginsville, and Kay Lynne Diemer of Overland Park, Kans.; one brother, Gerald Wayne Gibson of Walnut Creek, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with funeral services starting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.
