Born July 28, 1925 in Norwich, Norfolk, England, she was the daughter of Herbert John and Lily (Willamette) Curson. On June 2, 1945 in England she was united in marriage to Marvin Wendell Gaddie, who preceded her in death in May 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Marvin W. Gaddie, Jr. on February 2, 1980; two brothers, George and Albert and three sisters, Lily, Blanch and Joan. Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Thayer and husband, Charles, of Kansas City, Mo., D.J. Kephart of Independence, Mo., and Margaret Blankenship and husband, Terry, of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; one son, Steve Gaddie and wife, Michelle, of Prathersville, Mo.; one brother, John Curson of Norwich, England; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gaddie was a war bride who came to America with her husband in 1946. A homemaker, she was also a pastor’s wife and was involved in the ministry at Grace Baptist Church several years ago. She enjoyed reading and sewing but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. My sincere condolenses to Joyce and the family.
