Sign Guest Book Darlene Hughson Darlene June (Gustafson) Hughson, 50, Lawson, Mo., passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Independence, Mo., following a three and a half year battle with lung cancer. Darlene was born on February 15, 1960 in Independence, Mo., to Carl L. and Sara D. (Barrington) Gustafson. She graduated from William Chrisman in Independence, Mo., the class of 1978. After graduation she worked for Hallmark Greeting Cards in Liberty, Mo., where she met her husband of 29 years. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Hughson of the home; one daughter, Tara Hughson of the home; one son, Todd Hughson of the home; her parents, Carl and Sara Gustafson of Independence, Mo.; three brothers, David Gustafson and wife, Hanna, of Independence, Mo., Carl W. Gustafson and wife, Melody, of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Mark Gustafson and wife, Mary, of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Sharon Hostetler and husband, Will, of Blue Springs, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services wil be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, Mo. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. May the Hughson family find comfort in knowing that God is "near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves." (Psalm 34;18) He has promised to soon "swallow up death forever ... and wipe the tears from all faces."
