I. Charles Purdun
Isum Charles Purdun, age 78, of Ridgeway, Mo., passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo. Charles was born, December 15, 1931 to Hosea Blu and Bessie (Eaton) Purdun in Akron, Mo. He attended school in Blythedale, Mo., and served in the Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. Charles and Alice McIntosh were united in marriage on March 2, 1958. Charles was a farmer and was also involved in real estate, and along with his wife, income tax preparation. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph and Don Purdun; and in-laws Bill and Faye McIntosh. Surviving are his wife, Alice, of the home; a son, Randall Purdun and Joann, Hatfield, Mo.; a daughter, Katie Smith and husband, Mike, Eagleville, Mo.; brothers, Maurice and wife, Betty, and Bryce and wife, Linda, both of Ridgeway, Mo.; sister-in-law, Venita Purdun, Bethany, Mo.; grandchildren, Chris and Jennifer Purdun, Justin, Aaron, Betsy, and Kenton Smith; plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ridgeway Methodist Church. Military rites by the Auspices of American Legion Post #216, #56, #257 and VFW Post #2176 of Bethany, Mo., will be Friday, August 20, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the Ridgeway Methodist Church. Private inurnment will be at a later date in the Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, Mo. Memorials to the Ridgeway Cemetery maybe made in care of the family to Polley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 271, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.

Alice, I can't be there for visitation, but I will be there on Friday morning. I love you. Cheryl
