Darnell Larry Allen Darnell, 49, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab Center in Richmond, Mo. Born January 16, 1959 in Lexington, Mo., he was the son of James Howard and Virginia Frances (Brokert) Darnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, James Wesley Darnell. Surviving are twin sons, David Darnell and Daniel Darnell, both of Baumholder, Germany; two brothers, Billy Darnell and Gary Darnell, both of Richmond, Mo.; two nieces, Clarissa Darnell, Blue Springs, Mo., and Alysha Darnell, Richmond, Mo.; and three nephews, Derek Darnell and Kyle James Darnell, both of Richmond, Mo., and Christopher Lopez, Blue Springs, Mo. Mr. Darnell had been self-employed as a painter. He served in the United States Army for four years. Larry loved to fish, hunt mushrooms, shoot pool and loved being around children. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington, Mo. His sins were washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ in the waters of Holy Baptism on July 29, 2008. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Polley Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Burial will be in the Dover Cemetery in Dover, Mo. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested contributions to the Larry Darnell Memorial Fund in care of Polley Funeral Home, 122 W. North Main, Richmond, MO 64085.
