Pickering, 73, Cameron, Mo., passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center. Larence was born on August 13, 1936 in Danville, Ill., the son of Larence and Elizabeth (Lake) Pickering. He worked in construction as a cement mason. He was a member of the Crescent Lake Christian Center, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Larence enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping and loved just being with his family. Survivors include two daughters, Claudette Smith and husband, Joe, of Lawson, Mo., and Anna Petrusich and husband, Jerry, of Lawson, Mo.; one brother, Perry; two sisters, Ruth and Myrtle; and three granddaughters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Luwanna and Barbara, and two brothers, Zane and Roy. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, Mo. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Larence Pickering Memorial Fund c/o the Polley Funeral Home, 214 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Lawson, Mo. 64062.
