Raymond Deloss Eblen, 78, Camden, Mo., passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Ashton Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, Mo. Raymond was born on February 1, 1933 in Independence, Mo., the son
of Bircha and Sylvia (Race) Eblen. He worked as a painter and Diesel Mechanic for Peterbuilt, Freight Liner, Ford Freight , I.B.F., and retired from Over Nite Trucking. He loved to restore motorcycles and old cars. He was known to many as the "Bike Man." He was an avid race fan and almost never missed watching a race. He loved his cats (especially "Socks") who would ride with him on his shoulder or he would carry around like a baby. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He would try to do anything anyone asked of him. Raymond served his country in the Army National Guard and then in the Regular Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 29, 2001 he married Ellinor (Abbott) Eblen, who survives of the home.
Besides his wife, Ellinor, survivors include nine children, Carlene Garwacki (Ed) of Oregon, Ohio, Raymond Eblen (Karen) of Salix, Iowa, Christine Hutchens of Portland, Ore., Tym Eblen (Dana) of Raleigh, N.C., Terry Eblen (Chris) of Des Moines, Iowa, Donna Eblen (Jerry Haslett) of Lawson, Mo., Darla Rhein (Bill) of Omaha, Neb., Nora Walker (Paul) of Santee, Calif., and Bryan Rockford of Columbus, Neb.; one sister, Arlene Hermanson of Lawson, Mo., three brothers, Marion Eblen of Des Moines, Iowa, Leonard Eblen of Salem, Ind., and James Eblen (Mary) of Rushville, Ill.; four sisters-on-law, Peggy Eblen of Salem, Ind., Wanda Barrett of Nebraska City, Neb., Mary Lou Abbott of Nebraska City, Neb., and Janice Abbott of Elmwood, Neb.; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cremation. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Polley Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Raymond Eblen Memorial fund so that they may have the time to determine what they wish to do in Raymond's memory.

Sorry we didn't make the service. We will miss him alot. Today is Piper's birthday, Cheryl's granddaughter.
