Sign Guest Book Veryl Atkinson Veryl Atkinson, 92, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on January 25, 2012, at the Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab in Excelsior Springs. Mrs. Atkinson was born December 14, 1919, in Romance, Mo., the daughter of Marvin and Nell (Loftis) Pare. She married Ray Atkinson on August 25, 1940; he preceded her in death on May 22, 2001. Mrs. Atkinson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rockfalls Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs. Veryl loved to read and tend to her daylilies. Survivors include one daughter, Donelda Stockwell, Hilton, N.Y.; one son, Marlyn Atkinson, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mart Atkinson, Excelsior Springs; and sister-in-law, Opal Bartram, Polo. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012, with services starting at 12 p.m., at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial will be at 10 a.m, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Loftis Cemetery near Gainesville, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Rockfalls Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Harold and I are very sorry to hear about the death of your mother. Veryl was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We really enjoyed her and Ray as neighbors.
